To be fair, Okonogi was exhausted after a full day of walking/running, besides getting rekt in another fight. There is as also the fact that he probably wanted to lose : that was his way of taking responsibility for losing as a leader.

As for Irie, he got that Yamainu the moment he fooled him with the pen and syndrome : the MAID IN HEAVEN was just a fan service moment to gain a bit of time, and it was awesome.
