I didn't like the explanation on は/が too much. The "が emphasizes the subject" mantra isn't always true.
Why do people not just organize it via sentences dealing with separate cases DoJG-style?
e.g. 両親が心配だ. Use が here because if you use は it implies that you're making a general statement about parents making people worry, etc.
