Not to fuel it more, but on the notion of being trained: most 'fresh' soldiers who head to war in modern times are known to always be highly anxious for their first engagement. Not because they are looking forward to it, but because it is well known that every soldier is known to react different to actual life treatening danger.

Training thankfully helps, but things like panicing and ptsd/shellshock are a real thing, no matter how much training you've gotten. Not to mention aspects as soldiers getting tired of war, causing their effective abilities to drop like a brick. The 'peak' time of a soldier is argued to be around 80-150 days or so, after which it quickly starts to drop. Humans arent build for constant stress and a good general knows this and replaces his soldiers often.

Therefore remember to invite that war weary Mantis who lives around the corner to your home and help her relax and forget those horrible times. She might not show it, but she hasn't forgotten and really appreciates the care.
