I like this.

Here are some ideas for this, but I don't know if they are any good:
- Most of the main characters are omnipotent creator gods.
- Supporting characters can be their friends or insiders on the whole business (like lesser gods, humans born with strange powers or advanced alien species etc.)
- They are actually omnipresent, but take on a form most of the time for a lot of reasons or just for the heck of it
- There are creators that compete for the popularity of their created universes. It's like they are writers, artists and directors, but fiction becomes reality. Really creative creators are immensely popular and have a lot of people watching what's going on in their universes. There are also the interactive ones where the observer can vote for things to happen. This may or may not be a huge part of the plot.
- Other games are warfare between created civilizations and other battles among each other with fixed rules, because the whole omnipotent deal kinda gets in the way.
