This is so true. I've posted with MANY different tripcodes in the last several years, and for all of them that were used extensively (more than eight months) they were ingrained into the board culture. Most of them were for trolling purposes, so they possess a lot of stigma, and absolutely everybody wanted them gone at the time. But when I put them on today, I receive magnanimous praise. "OMG! You're that epic trip from 2011, all the way back when this place was good!"

The sole fact that you were there more than a year ago is more than enough to retract any bad reputation. It all comes down to looking at the past with rose-tinted glasses.

Of course, it only works if you don't post for a very long while, and create the illusion that you've disappeared between a very large space of time (e.g.: "This place is so shitty now that even [tripuser] left! He must have been a better poster than we thought"). Are you reading this, irrelevant-trips-whom-I-shall-not-name?

Mugen, why do you waste your art on shitty games? Why not draw stuff for actually good games?
