Hah, see now we're actually getting somewhere, albiet all too painfully slowly and stupidly considering all the obtuse shit to come before it.

Anyway. Yes. Foundation and forefathers has its place in the realm if fictional creatures, absolutely. I think the main point of contention came from getting too hung up on relying on that stencil sameness, and being badly worded but whatever.

Trying to enforce such a lack of creative freedom is suffocating, stagnant, and uninspired. It's not so much a matter of respecting "what came before" as having the integrity to know how to handle it well going forward. Creative liberties can and do get abused beyond reason, hell you can see that enough here with the meek "personalities" some normally harder archetypes get but you won't win people over with demanding they follow some ephemeral "rule". They're going to write, believe and say what they want and no one has some ulterior right to make them stop.

That was the main problem and why writefags here were mentioned, because this is largely a feature of creative evolution that goes above and beyond monster girls or succubus, which are a really shit example of it in the first place, but yeah. What came before exists as reference and inspiration but anyone that lets themselves be so wholly restrained and locked down to it should never ever consider any creative endeavor. Whether something strays too far or not far enough is entirely down to that creator's integrity and ability.

End of the day, you can disagree with someone's belief but you can't demand they regress and stagnate into your own. That's really silly.
