Autumn used to be your favorite time of the year, the baking heat from the summer started dying down and the leaves take on brilliant and vivid hues. In recent years however you've grown to become weary of it, the animals prepare for winter and the youkai are no different. Eating all they can and nabbing any human they can get away with before they hibernate for the winter and as such it was a truly dangerous time for you. Reimu has been out working again keeping the youkai from taking the lives of villagers, her work seeming all the longer for how short the days were getting and you were doing your best to support the only one for you. You finished raking the leaves in the yard into a large pile as noon struck, it wasn't a windy day and so you let the pile lay hoping to roast some of the sweet potatoes you bought at the market the other day when your beloved gets back. You splurged a decent chunk of the money you've been putting away from doing odd jobs, all hard and back breaking labor around the village, to save up for some premium tea leaves you were hoping to surprise your miko wife with and during a taste test you were very pleased with its flavor and aroma. It was a bit past midday with the sun partially obscured by some low hanging lazy clouds that she returned, expecting her you didn't miss her distinctive red and white outfit fluttering in the breeze and got the tea on just as she started setting down at the Torii beyond the main shrine building and began her casual stroll to where you were awaiting her in the living room. You turn to greet her just after you pour the hot water from the kettle into the earthenware tea pot with the expensive leaves sitting on the bottom like the gorgeous leaves you raked up from across the yard earlier. With an affectionate smile on your face you welcome her, "I just got the tea poured in the pot for would you like som-" Reimu quietly dumps a few leaves on the tatami mats, the leaves are like confetti drifting onto the ground below you fluttering a bit as they go, and in a low but powerful voice she says with her face hard, "why is that yard so filthy anon? I set down by the Torii and as I walk i'm seeing litter all around the main gate!". Knowing better then to argue with her despite being sure some merely fell in the time between this morning and now from the treeline you simply stutter out while avoiding her eyes like a scolded child, "I-I must have missed the ones by the gate, I can go get it done right now!". You make a step to go but Reimu grasps you harshly by your wrist, "and you plan to this room as a mess? theres leaves all over the damn place you idiot!" and she yanks down on your arm as if to make you face the floor she scattered the leaves on and you scurry to pick them up by hand barely noticing the throbbing red pressure mark from where grasped your wrist with iron like hands and make to toss them into the pile outside. As you do so you hear a "humph" as Reimu sits down and pours herself a cup of tea you turn back just in time to see her face twist in displeasure as she spits out the tea in a way that would almost be comical if you didn't know her, "what is this? it tastes awful anon, are you really trying to make me pissed off today?!", your steps grow softer with anxiety as you approach your beloved "Those are tea leaves from the local plantation, its supposed to be high quality but if they don't match your tastes...". The angry miko gives a sharp glare and simply utters the words, "It doesn't", you quickly try changing the subject forcing a smile to your face and mention that for lunch you wanted to make some roasted sweet potatoes today, knowing they're her favorite autumn treat you quickly move to get the firestarter from the kitchen as Reimu glares at you with undisguised anger clouding her eyes. It isn't long before you get the leaves going with the potatoes placed in the middle of the lightly burning pile before Reimu calls you over again, you hurry to her side again convinced the worst is over as she stands by the table just relieved that one of her favorite snacks is cooking when your heart stops for a second as she stares you straight in the eyes and holding the bag of expensive tea leaves to you and simply says, "burn it". You start stammering but before the words can form a coherent sentence she backhands you with an unbreaking gaze colder then a midwinter blizzard, the sharp blow across your face stops all thoughts as she pushes you harshly to the porch the bag still in your hand and you can't stop the first of the tears from forming as you toss the bag onto the now blazing fire.

Reimu is totally the morally grey gunslinger who doesn't care necessarily about humans but understands that we live in a society and the order must be maintained. Disrupt that on either side and she kills you
