He's absurdly melodramatic in a way that somehow appeals to me. Stuff like being pathologically unable to end a scene without some sort of "IF ONLY..." I SIGHED FORLORNLY INTO THE SUNSET-type stinger, his protagonists overthinking things to the point of paralysis, plot twists that seem to exist purely to maximize potential drama, etc., all the stuff that I can entirely understand people disliking, ends up being endearing to me.

I started with Unmei Yohou and loved it despite its roughness, I just really like lucle's characters and their development. Also mcs with actual self-awareness.

But like I said, I can understand not liking his writing. It's very either it works or it doesn't. And christ he desperately needs an editor willing to tell him 15 chapters is too many.

Would you still eat a mermaid even if it's been in the garbage?

My 'tism won't let me with characters I like. It's fine though, all the discussion lately is making me want to get back in and finish. I'm just glad it's finally getting some love around here, it got bashed pretty hard over the typos/bugs when it first came out (not exactly unfairly either, but still).

I think Sayo end IS true end though I don't know for sure.

There's a split in chapter 8 where the girls get split into two groups (trying to be as spoiler-free as possible). I did Yurugi and Yuura's routes and got halfway through Kukuri's before burnout set in. Yuura's was pretty good though I hated the antagonist, and not in the good way. Yurugi's was weird in that it gave me exactly what I wanted and it turns out I didn't want what I wanted. mild thematic spoiler explaining why: she wants him to be happy. in order for that to happen, he has to cut out of his life everything that makes him unhappy. that means all the plot goes away. so they become happy and the route drama isn't even about her. but on the other hand, it's a massive tonal shift from the rest of the game and is honestly a little boring after everything that came before. but I wanted to see MC happy and drama-free. but it turns out actually seeing that is kinda eh. go figure.

honestly unless you really the Yuru/Yuura combo I'd skip both of their routes. Kukuri was good and plot related from what I read, though.

and yes, Kureha was literally made for hatefucks and I am eternally upset there was no hatefuck to speak of.
