I think it's only natural you want to learn Japanese when you are into idles. At least for me it feels like I am not totally wasting my time but I am using a "muh Japanese practice" excuse. And I unironically wouldn't go this far with my Japanese if it wasn't for idles, so it works both ways. I heard some people said starting with N5 as a goal and then moving up from there works, because you have actual list of things you are supposed to learn instead of just going on your own peace. Of course there is also one more thing-don't you want to impress your oshi when you meet her?
