Well, part of the issue may be a lack of experience. Sex in of itself tends to be heavily romanticized by erotic authors and artists for the sake of attracting the virginal eye. Sex isn't always the rough and tumble passionate fuckfests you see in hentai. Some times it's slow, sticky, and awkward. There's weird noises in sex ( like queefs, farting, grunting, the wet slapping noises, or even the giggling at your own stupid jokes and bodily noises ). It isn't all just about dick in vagina, and going full ham, either. Some times, I've just wanted to lay there after the fact and put my ear to her chest because I like to feel her breathing and the pitter-patter of her heart beat. Other times, it's just been full blown Stranger Danger outdoors sex with us getting glanced at by some guy on a bicycle at dusk while we fucked on a forest trail.

This is due in part to the fact that unlike the near instantaneous transformation kissing clams with a Succubus entails, a human woman pupating into an insect monster girl or even a Green Worm undergoing metamorphosis into a Papillon. It kind of puts an undue amount of stress on the amateur writer to make sure the pay-off is satisfactory because otherwise you get a shit product, if that makes sense.

Some examples of this would be the pupating metamorphosis of Martin Brundle in The Fly II, Sil from Species ( Even though her metamorphosis was actually part of the rising action and the climax actually came after she successfully mated and got pregnant ), or even Abigail Arcane from the first arc of Swamp Thing's run with Scott Snyder.
