In a weird way they are obseesed with the lore
but only that they have names and faces to stuff when their humans go around saving humans from monsters/the evil ends or the order.
For example
Castor, The king of leicastie was a figurehead in all but name while the nobility held the power. post druella's invasion, the guy goes with his wife traviling as a diplomat while his daughter franchisca rules as the new queen.

/TG doesn't care about half of what I just said. a post invasion leicastie is a rapey hellholy where monsters do nothing but fuck.
Theres also the fact that druella gets character assasinated, gone is the mastermind behind the invasion, the clever lilim that hit at the weakest pillars and overhaled the kingdom in and out
in her place is just a incompetent ditszy slut that tries to brute force every problem and folds in half the moment OC MC'cooledgeboy (can't be chad thundercock if you have no cock)

To expand ond this, there are people that DO read deeper into the setting but it doesn't help much, usually just adding more named characters to the roster
Mostly, they hammer down that the monsters are perpetuating a hellscape, and/or their mindset is wrong
So unlike cool shit where DE turns the cleric beast fuckable or doing stuff with a harpy version of that one crow that sells you stuff you get pic related
The one souls crossover that isn't a rolfstomp is written by a complete twat that when on a reiview war with one of the darksouls writers
