Nasuverse lore can get pretty dumb complicated but in short Archtype:Earth is arcueid's true ancestor form. Basically, a manifestation of the earth's will, which can awaken during a crisis.
I still find it a bit strange that they share the same head/face up as the personalities for both differ quite a bit.
