This mining business is making me realise how crappy my grasp of my own language is.

When trying to select definitions for my cards, I keep having to look the definitions themselves up in an English dictionary because my understanding of what they actually mean is quite vague and imprecise. When they come up in a sentence, I have no problem, but when looking at them on their own and trying to ascertain whether they are a good match for the Japanese word I'm trying to learn, I keep getting left thinking "wait, what exactly *does* this word mean?", then I have to go look it up in the dictionary to make sure that it does actually mean what I think it does.
