I also went a bit over the page about "Eba's pendulum" again. As I assumed, this item can be used to track down males with the disposition to alp. Additionally it will mark those males with magic, letting other mamono know about their disposition. This causes them to regard these men as females, and if they attack them it will be for the sake of monsterising them. It will also make the men themselves self aware of their disposition, making the transformation move along more smoothly
