>I cope with the real world through escapism and being a shut-in--I don't pretend everything in the real world is hunky-dory but then I avoid it for no reason.

Escapism via self-insert fantasy is pleasant, but isn't getting it for real better?

Anyways, please use your language accurately. You're not coping with the real world. The thing you are coping with is your own situation. As for the real world, you are not coping with it. You are avoiding the real world, not coping with it.

>...that single player game feeling.

While there are "forever alone" players in online games, there are lots of sociable people too.

>most people don't like talking to strangers and would rather grind by themselves or with friends.

Most elite players have that mindset of deliberately not being helpful to competitors. So it's natural for them to stick to their own group of other elite players who might not even be friends but people mutually banding together for monster killing.

>Do you want to gladly help newbies who come up to you begging for help and gold?
I never give money, but I will give spare gears if they actually can use it and won't sell it.

>Do you want to party with randoms and lose in dungeons?

They don't lose if I'm there as I'm competent and I won't party randoms that are total idiots like level 1 fighting the level 9999 boss. At times, I join in just to make sure they don't fail and decline all drops because I enjoy seeing others play nicely and having fun. YOU might even be that random I helped since I often deliberately go looking for randoms to help when waiting for a boss to repop.

>Do you want to have content that requires multiple people to beat?

All good games try to encourage partying instead of soloing, even for lower level monsters.

>Do you want to have to depend on people playing other classes to fight effectively?

Some monsters are designed that way in the top 5 commercially successful mmorpg that have lasted over 5 years.

>Do you want to never be able to obtain (non event) things that other better players flaunt at every chance?

I feel no need to be Kirito or Asuna or self-insert with flaunting poses as in the picture.
