>MCR

A laundry list of things let them to being booed in 06/07 Reading/Leeds, yeah.

For one thing, their success was pretty much overnight with their Three Cheers album and that one WHEN I WAS meme song. They played in 04 previously to that and the crowd liked them then. They also played in 2011 and the crowd loved them then.

There was also bit thing at the time with a girl that killed herself in the UK and somehow the blame got around to MCR and their "emo death cult".

They're also objectively NOT a metal band by any stretch of the definition.

I think more importantly also they were booked ahead of Slayer, meaning that the festival thought that they were more relevant/important, and obviously the crowd did not agree.

That can't be compared to Babymetal's situation. They do have a bit of overnight success with Gimme Chocolate, but they've been touring hard since then and they're not going to be headlining festivals at least not for a while.
