You can do so using the skin option here. All girls can switch between their base, evolved and (if available) bloomed art, while girls with alternate versions can switch between these, but you have to "unlock" their portraits in both cases: Here I can switch 5* Red Waterlily's skin to 3* and vice-versa, because I have both, but I can't use the evolved art of the 3* version because I haven't evolved her as a bronze. In addition, skin changes are purely cosmetic, so the character retains her original statline no matter which skin you use.

A small number of characters also have alternate skins that are associated with no separate version, but come unlocked by default - Cattleya, Cyclamen and Anemone got theirs for winning the last contest, and Pingpong Mum had the very first skin option through a very fortunate series of events (she first appeared with glasses on a banner for about half a day, but these were removed afterwards, so FKG players proved themselves to be paragons of good taste and asked for her glasses back, and she had a glasses skin implemented as a result).
