I've never been in a relationship and I don't want to. I don't like the idea of NEEDING someone else, letting that person have power over me, but at the same time I feel lonely. Isn't it fucked up that we as humans are programmed to not be at peace while alone? I know it's theoretically possible to achieve a state of peace and fulfilment while being alone, real monks do it, but having to dedicate my life to constant meditation the only way out? Seems a bit extreme.
