This post reminded me of spartan practice of regularly declaring war on their helot slaves to keep them in line.
Aggressively matriarchal monsters like amazons and ocelomehs could practice periodically setting up mock runaways of their husbands or mock wars (and aztecs did practice ritualized warfare (flower wars) so that would be very fitting for ocelomehs)
It could also be used as an excuse for hunting any unclaimed men living in their territory.
"Annual husband hunt" would be a very fitting tradition for such monsters.
