I want to discuss with /jp/ once what is happening with the critical state touhou is right now.
I think ZUN was right, Touhou 13 was going to doom the franchise because let's be honest, a lot of the characters in recent games are so inmemorable you forget they actually exist. Kyoko, Benben, Raiko, Futo, etc. They aren't as charismatic or memorable are most old characters. Aside from that, the games are becoming easier than usual. The spirit system in TD is pretty meh and DDS "grab every item you can" stuff pretty much breaks the game.
I know I'm going to get shit on for this but it's true, it pains me to see Touhou in this state, back then in 2009-2010 everyone was ultra hype for touhou, even /jp/. The livestreams for DS and Fairy Wars, a lot of threads in the front page that would max out in a couple of minutes. What happened?
