Well Nacho and Chiemi really aren't super popular. Nacho gets minor roles here and there and Chiemi really doesn't do much outside of Love Live and Nacherry. Rina is popular, but that popularity doesn't fully translate to Chiemi and Ai isn't that popular in the first place (even before the antics of AS S2).
I'm guessing Lantis was also going to go off the AiRina shipping train, but Love Live fucked that up for them with having Mia also be a main ship for Rina. And are still shilling MiaRina that I wouldn't be surprised if Love Live requested Shu be added to Nacherry.
I won't fault the music or the advertising they have gotten (since it's honestly seems like more than one would expect) and besides one of two tracks I think their music is good. But I wouldn't be surprised if their next two live shows will be the make or break for them. Their first show did well, so I guess we'll see.
