Made me think, was Eua involved in saving Takano in the original story?
Takano had escaped the orphanage and was hiding in a telephone booth. There, she noticed a 10 yen coin on the floor of the booth, which she hadn't noticed earlier. It's as if the coin appeared on the floor from thin air. And the coin was lying there so that Takano could decide on her on would she seek for help (and change fate) or not.
Eua "helped" Satoko in her own quest, so Eua could kill her own boredom, which is poison for witches. Also in Gou, Eua says she's indirectly responsible for events happening in Umineko (Lambda) and Ciconia (Vier). So basically, the events of Higurashi were meant to entertain a bored witch?
