The parasitic nature of Takolukas prevents them from being removed from their victims as easily as a yukkuri would.

A takoluka will burrow its slender feeler arms into the soft flesh of the neck and back, from where it will penetrate the spine in order to access the brainstem and spinal cord.

From there, it will gradually graft itself upon the victim's head and neck, forming a living 'mask'. The Takoluka's genetic code provokes instant and irregular changes within a victim human, gradually reshaping their body into a perfect copy of Megurine Luka's.

Once the process is done, the Takoluka and the human continue their existence in peaceful symbiosis, granting the human certain abilities common amongst their kind, such as telepathy, precognition, and other general improvements to the five senses.
