Having a go at making an AE86 NPC sprite and I think I'm doing pretty well considering I have no experience with pixel art. Front end is looking very nice, need to work out the slopes of the angles on the read though. Wheel hub looks a bit off. This is the image I was using as a guide.

If I can't make it work in 48x48 I can always just do a side view.
Wondering what's a good way to anti-alias when I'm done? Does gimp's antialias filter do a good job?
