If you don't think you're guilty, but rather think it's what you should be doing, then why not do it? If killing a god will give you an answer, then you might as well try it.

There's no justice, nor fear of body counts. Just a search for truth by any means necessary. Even if you don't find your answer, at least you lived how you chose to live.
