Aikido is based on a real martial art, founded by Morihei Ueshiba.

See this picture? Someone is using Aikido to throw a person so fast that he can't be cleanly captured. That's right, he is thrown faster than LIGHT. While sitting.

When I first began to practice Aikido, I told everyone I met "You should practice it too!"

However, I soon realized that even if a person is physically capable of performing aikido techniques, if their mind is not of one spirit, they will have little success.

Train your mind guys, then your body.

so /jp/, I had my first Aikido session today. Was thrown right in the deep end, literally. I trained with a bokken etc.
Any Aikidofags?
and if someone were to attack me in the streets, would I actually be able to use Aikido?
