She shook her head. The two trails of frills on the top of her hat seemed to sway with the motion. “I said in that article that the only ones who do that sort of thing are those who don't consider the consequences. This, it appears, is what I have done to you. I let you clean my room, then threw you from my home without any consideration for what would happen to you. I..." She trailed off for a moment. "I apologize. I am sorry for treating you poorly. I am sorry for throwing you from the clouds like that." If it hadn't been for Tenshi's appearance, I likely would have died. "Yes, I - I have no justification for that. I was drunk enough that I did not consider the consequences."

"Watch this." I heard Tenshi mutter. Behind Miss Iku, she actually rested her arm on Miss Yuuka's shoulder. Miss Yuuka slowly turned to her head look at the offending limb. "He'll forgive her, trust me." Turning back, Miss Yuuka slapped Tenshi upside the head, then pushed her arm away.

She wasn't wrong, though. Yes, Miss Iku had done something callous and cruel, and it had almost had disastrous consequences. But...It hadn't. Tenshi had saved my life for the first time and far from the last time. Much like my agony over my parents, it was, in some sense, a good thing that it had happened because of what it had led to. Yamame was right. I was an optimist to a fault. The problem was that I liked it. I really did want to tell Miss Iku that I forgave her. But somewhere in the back of my mind was a voice, telling me that, no, I shouldn't forgive someone for happily throwing me to my death like that. So...Instead, I did the only thing I could think of. I told Miss Iku that I would forgive her if she let Tenshi keep the outfit and joined us for the rest of the wedding. "You - What?" Tenshi asked blankly. "You want her to...?" I nodded. It just seemed like the right choice. She wanted to take Tenshi's outfit and leave, so I was asking her to stay. "She's a bit of a stick in the mud, you know." The ex-celestial muttered.

Miss Iku tilted her head. "You...Want me to stay for your wedding? I - I don't really have the time. The Eldest Daughter's father, he..."

"Iku, if you even mention my father again, I'm going to stab you with the Sword of Hisou. The guy's useless. He's about as useful as a paper door in an underwater house. He's not going to come down and check. The only reason you have to is because all the celestials are too stuck up to come to the surface. He'll complain about me some more and you'll be on your way." Tenshi's words were surprisingly harsh. I supposed that she had a lot of built-up resentment toward her father. "Now, will you just agree, already? Still plenty to do, you know?"

"I...Oh, okay. I'll stay for your wedding." Miss Iku finally said slowly. I smiled slightly and bowed slightly more, thanking her. "I do still apologize, though. It was never my true intention for you to be hurt in the way that you might have been were it not for the Eldest Daughter's intervention." I shrugged, then said that I would probably be ready to accept the apology by the end of the wedding.

"Is this little drama done with?" Miss Yuuka asked sharply. "In that case, please consider making your way to the gazebo soon. Your bride is undergoing her final touches." Miss Yuuka strode over to me. "You are to go to the gazebo and wait inside, facing the tree. Miss Yamame will then come in from behind you." I nodded, then curiously asked where all of these decisions had come from. "My memory." Miss Yuuka said shortly. "Now, it is fortunate that Elly was free to guard the door while I dealt with..." She looked back at Miss Iku and Tenshi, then narrowed her eyes. "This." She finally said. "However, time is moving on. Go on. Go to the gazebo and wait. This will be an event you remember for the rest of your life." Miss Yuuka spun, disappearing around the corner and leaving me with Miss Iku and Tenshi.

"So...It's time, huh?" Tenshi asked me slowly, stepping closer. "Let's get over there. And - Don't worry about the intruder. We'll handle it." I nodded, heartened by the knowledge and certain that they would indeed handle it. I could trust everyone who was keeping an eye out for me.

So, taking a deep breath, I walked back around the corner. From here, I could see the gazebo, and I could already tell that the energy in the crowd had changed. Like a whole collective holding its breath in anticipation.

I just had to be sure not to disappoint.
