And you can tell the rank of a maiko by her collar and hair. The girl on the left is a senior maiko, and the girl on the right is a junior maiko. Junior maiko also have more red on their collars, whereas sr. maiko only have red on the back half.

These two aren't wearing okobo because it was the rainy season.
