I have this idea that all the men are staying at home to run the farm, lift heavy stuff, open pickle jar lids, reach things on high shelves. Oh wait, every girl can fly. Forget that last one.

Anyway, Danmaku makes a man's way of fighting useless:
Swords --> getting shot before ever coming within range, while target floats further away from you.
Arrows --> danmaku can be shot many at a time, and in all directions.

Finally, with such a small population, methods of fighting which leave people still alive and capable of having tea are prioritized, therefore spell cards were created.
With that in mind, a girl's smaller frame (hitbox), and less weight are prioritized over man's strength.
