>People are splitting story power and game power. Karona, for example, is one of the most mighty beings that ever existed in the world of MTG, yet is an incredibly shitty card in game that overgrown rhinoceroses could kill.
Karona's power came from creatures worshiping her, and it was ability power, not physical power; she could accomplish anything people believed she could accomplish. Her pinnacle of strength, the moment she was the most powerful creature on Dominaria was during Legions. She was printed during Scourge, after her power had waned significantly.

Very little is known about how she compares to the rest of the multiverse; she compared herself to Yawgmoth and Teferi and found herself superior, both encounters most likely never happened at all; Teferi himself (in Planeswalker form) does not recall the encounter at all, and Yawgmoth was confirmed dead long before the supposed meeting and hasn't been seen since. It may be that she never was all that powerful; her power originates from delusions (hence her title of 'False God'), and may itself be little more than delusions.

It's true that in-game power and story power used to be completely separate things (lol mightstone), but as time went on cards represented their story counterparts more and more closely. Emrakul's card is representative of his power; far superior to any living creature, fearsome even for the stronger planeswalkers (the players), but not at all invincible.

>Unless you have some actual instant-death gimmick akin to Yuyuko's powers, those hits will not kill such a mighty creature.
Gay Bulge is pretty much 'Equipped creature has 'T: Destroy target creature.'', and Excalibur is pretty much Wrath of God on a stick (it's an anti-fortress Noble Phantasm, meaning it could kill anything in a huge area, just like average MTG mass destruction spells).
