Bullshit. Ryukishi was a no-name author back when he was writing Higurashi. It wasn't until Higurashi Kai that people submitted music for him to use (and that music was kept AFAIK, though I'm not sure as I used the music patch).

That said, I believe the French translation DID manage to license all of it. But that was a translation done out of passion, not as business.

It took a little over a year and a month for Koihime Musou, and it took over 2 years and 3 months for Kara no Shoujo. You can verify the dates yourself with VNDB. If you're talking about unofficial voice patches, that does not excuse the publisher for removing content.

Line count is an inaccurate measure, as different writing styles lead to more or less words per sentence, meaning the same amount of text can be few or many sentences in a different writer's style. (Line count is inaccurate. Some people write short sentences. Some prefer long ones. Short sentence writers have higher line counts. It's a matter of style.)

Although f/sn has a MUCH higher line count than I/O (94,127 vs 54,840 (58%), the difference in script size is a lot less (3.85 MB vs 3.12 MB (81%). Fate/stay night is still clearly longer than I/O, but I/O IS very long (compared to I/O, Ever17 is much shorter at 1.86 MB (60%), Never7 is even shorter and Remember11 is presumably also shorter than Ever17 but I don't have the stats on that one. Steins;Gate is also shorter at 1.78 MB).
