Gave the first chapter of Sola and Piyo a quick readthrough with AGTH/google.

It really doesn't seem to be anything special. The art is as bad as it looks, and it's not like there's a ton of different shots for every character to make up for it or anything.

Music was okay, but I imagine it's just freeware stuff. Can't say for certain. I liked the stuff in the trailer a lot more, so maybe he's gotten better.

Storyline is dirt simple. Sola is a little girl that sold almost all of her belongings and moved to the big city. Her parents are dead and she was living with her uncle and aunt, but she couldn't go to high school because they wanted a new car and an expensive cruise respectively. No idea if she ran away or if they let her go. She finds a mobile phone that projects (?) Piyo-chan, but refuses his offer of becoming a detective for 500,000 yen an hour (I think that's a translation mistake). Then her suitcase containing all of her belongings, including 300k yen, is stolen. With Piyo's help, she tracks down the thief who was trying to pawn it off in a recycling center (It even has the recycling symbol. I think the author meant pawn shop, though). She attacks the woman thief and gets her stuff back. Later, at the Piyo-chan detective office, the thief comes in asking for her reward. Surprise! The thief was in cohoots with Piyo-chan to encourage Sola to become a detective

I can't actually read, but the writing certainly didn't seem to be anything special. The big reveal shouldn't have been revealed either - would've been better to have him string her along for a few chapters or something. It was too damn obvious anyway.

So yeah. Judging by all that and the extremely small number of downloads on dlsite/melonbooks dl, it ain't worth shit. Oh well.
