How the hell is listening immersion supposed to work? Everybody talks so fucking fast I have no hope of even beginning to parse what's being said. If I'm reading I can at least break the sentence down and work from there.

Like half a dozen times now I've watched something like Terrace House, been totally lost, rewound and turned on JP subs and realized "well, fuck, I would've understood that if I was reading it". Did I fall for a meme?
