>nerfing a strong, popular unit at the very beginning of the game's life cycle that whales have probably already sunk thousands of dollars into
Good one, anon.

I could see them doing something to tone down status, but Sapphire's bloated toolkit is probably here to stay.

If you're on a budget and don't feel like spending money on the game, Morganite gives your entire team freeze immunity while coming with the capability of freezing units herself. She's obviously not capable of freezing Sapphire herself due to her status immunity, but Sapphire is so overpowered that Morganite is still the only way to prevent her from freezing your wrists to a bedpost and raping you until you pass out.

I'm of the mind at this point that the "best" arena composition without using any of the Spectra are:
>frontrow Pearl/Zircon
>frontrow filler
>backrow Amber
>backrow Tourmaline
>backrow Morganite
Pearl soaks up physical attacks with her barrier for nearly the entire duration of the arena fight at 6* and has a chance to inflict AoE paralysis (though Zircon can be used instead, as she has the same barrier that Pearl does, is a physical unit instead of magical, and comes with similar AoE stun capabilities). Amber is self-explanatory for being immune to all status for the first 2 turns of battle and being the only source of status cleanse in the game, making her a shoe-in on almost any team, Spectra or not, til they tone down CC. Tourmaline can back up Amber's healing to sustain you through most sources of raw damage and brings that ridiculous full-party rez and enemy damage reduction to the field. And Morganite's presence is self-explanatory.

Last slot is more flexible, though if you pick Pearl you'll need them to be a physical attacker to bypass enemy Peridots (and I guess Rose Quartzes, though they're fairly rare). Larimar comes with two effective HP bars and can debuff the entire enemy team's offense or murder one enemy's defenses; Peridot comes with a magic barrier and can attempt to burst enemies down; or I guess you can always double up and go with Zircon for the last slot for an additional barrier and even more CC. Still won't hold a candle to teams with Amethyst/Topaz/Sapphire in those slots, but you've at least got a chance of an upset if the RNG fucks the opponent over hard enough.

Nobody's gotten it yet, so it'll probably be distributed when the game exits open beta.
