Of course it is. The moment that I heard them (first video I saw was Megitsune, then IDZ, etc.) I never once thought "oh these little Japanese school girl teens with the fake skeleton band (at the time) totally wrote all these songs and are huge metalheads".

My initial thoughts were "Some evil genius at a record company took a huge gamble and captured lightning in a bottle by mixing two genres that should never be mixed" and as I found out about their origins in Sakura Gakuin that's pretty much what happened.

I guess it would be nice if the girls were metalheads who got together because of their love of metal, but it honestly doesn't change anything about the music either way. The people behind the music, both the producers/songwriters & live band members are dedicated & sincere metalheads and that shines through.

Exactly. They played practically all of the biggest Metal festivals in the world except for Wacken and took pictures of themselves with the Big Four (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax).
