Slight misinterpretation, the original idea was that it was originally believed that there was a correlation between a higher chance of skin inflammation and the mother's diet, including peppers. However, meta-analysis has actually proven that to not be the case and we don't really have much compelling evidence to suggest that higher rates of dermatitis/inflammation are correlated with the diet of the mother. "This review found no consistent link between maternal dietary intake and atopic outcomes in their children despite considering 11 intervention studies and 31 cohort studies including more than 40,000 children".
