Not really, the characters are just introduced out of nowhere one after the other.
Most plot point are just introduced through the mc through his monologue in one or two lines.
I played their last game (in the same universe) and even in this one more importance was given to the plot (though not much).

I don't even understand how I should care about anyone, even the mc.
Maybe I just excepted too much out of it.
It's mainly because it has so much production value that I thought they would at least put some work into it.
