It's all from the lack the connections in the community to the stain of Western-anime culture (even though many would say they don't care for the mainstream, they act as such).

I love the culture, but it's pretty much accepted that the community would do nothing and never would would never be unique compared to say 4chan and the general anime community. ;_;
