Yes, some doujin circles got youtube channel and produced popular music and MVs like IOSYS, Demetori, Akatsuki Records, Shibayan, etc and quite a number of mainstream folks know about them. There's also the mildly popular ones that Touhou fans know and actively seek out like GITR, RD-Sounds, Tamaonsen, etc. and has their songs on music hosting sites. Those one I've mentioned so far has held several live concerts and are expected to present in Touhou event.
Then you get something like Tengu no Mai, 8989m, Anagram, Diabolica Phantasma, tons of metal bands, etc that are like completely unknown until you dig deeper, then you found out they have quite number of activities and inner circle, and they are quite numerous too. That's what I'm talking about. Something underground that's even below doujin scene yet their number and activities are nothing to sneeze at. Taking that into account the whole Touhou music scene is just TOO big.
