I don't think it's that much of a crackpot theory. It seems reasonable if you put it in the perspective that the Gensokyo Chronicles is a finished document and ergo represents a future that hasn't happened in any other printwork or game yet. PMiSS and SoPM (with Symposium being more about the past and speculative future) are only small parts of the document we readers can see. Gensokyo becomes such a peaceful place where Akyuu speculates if her continued reincarnation is necessary as her reason for reincarnating—the war between Humans and Youkai—has all but ended in name and Youkai hunters aren't her audience anymore. If we assume that ZUN isn't a hack, the printworks and games are a medium to explore the trials and tribulations Gensokyo takes to get to the ideal future; the journey is far more interesting than the destination. Maybe he was playing 4D chess with us the whole time as he's stated "Gensokyo is idyllic and pastoral, and is a 'peace-addled' kind of a world," or the alcohol made him forget. We'll only know for certain once we get there.

I actually checked my current version of anonTW and there is an option on the "modded" settings to toggle controversial content like scat and NTR.
To my surprise that option was toggled on, but I had never seen any of that content in anonTW ever. So I'm wondering what the fuck is up with that? Why is that even there?
