Eh, Gambits are just streamlining. I don't consider waiting 30 seconds to enter a battle, 2 seconds to hit X and kill one enemy, and 20 more seconds to exit the battle an efficient process. Besides, try to manage Gambits alone against any boss past Judge Bergan and watch yourself get eaten over and over.

Also, I loved the characters and the fact that the storyline wasn't THESE SIX WHO SAVETH THE WORLD again. Felt more like a real war when there were many other figures who drove the story around.

- Be creative. Half the bullshit documented abilities that power-level faggots drool over are not game ready in the slightest anyway unless you want everyone casting Vanish/X-Zone.
- Do they have to be balanced? And zero-sum stat distribution.
- Calculate damage via statistics instead of absolute values.
