If you want your mind blown, it might be the plot to Higurashi Sotsugyou as a whole. Pay attention to how much Keiichi spergs out about the story of Oyassan getting killed and split into 6 parts, and how he fixates on the missing arm in multiple fragments. The same missing arm that was said to have been used by Takano to make H173 in the original Higurashi. And how the same arm was missing from the Oyashiro-sama statue in the original.
