The west is lost for music culture, we lost in the 90s. We don't give A FUCK what music sounds like, people just buy music because of what it says about them to listen to a certain band. Not that Japan is any better, but at least they have a healthy indie scene. Our indie scenes are starving and located in specific cities for 5 to 10 years at a time and then they die out or get bought out by the establishment.

I love Miku and I love Hachi and I disagree with what (I feel) is the message of sand planet but I still like it. It's a good song. I think he's right to feel like "his people" are gone from the scene. To an extent it's almost true. There's new people, making new music that I love, and he's making his own music that I love too. I don't need to take sides.
