The difference between 2008 and now is that now we have a catalog of millions of songs, nothing feels new anymore, every genre has been done to death, so it feels like we've already heard all the new songs coming out.

It's kinda what happened with rock bands in the 2000s, there's an established formula that's been proven to work so everyone's doing it, to the point where their sound meshes together.

A personal turn off for me is the fact that most producers don't use vocaloids for their MVs anymore, it's always some random OC chasing after a silhouette or some shit like that it's so boring. As much as I agree with >>23979063 when it comes to daughter of evil, butterfly on your right shoulder, etc. at least it felt like it was the vocaloid playing a part, things used to be fun.
