"Herbivore Men"

What do you think of it?

I think it's more negative than positive. Because of the reasons why these men are turning into "herbivores" rather than being "herbivore" itself. If you are unable to get something, you wont put much effort and energy in obtaining it. I believe it's the reasons why these men can't obtain and share intimacy with a woman in the first place. I went through this kind of phase of shunning women and any form of non-isolated sexual activities. At that time, I had depression and a lot of other problems that were repressed in my life-time. When I untangled those webs and destroyed my depression, I had the ability to socialize effectively and, in turn, attract women. That is when my female-shunning phase dropped.

That is why I want to focus on the reasons why this phenomenon exists in men, rather than talking about it's "ideology" for a lack of a better term. I think my anecdote has some merit.

Lets not go into extremes. No one wants men to be seed-spreading animals nor do they want them to be passive social recluses that project themselves into anime characters. With that out of the way, what is your opinion on "herbivore men"

Time to seriously talk about this in a non-"whoa dude" way.

Touhou is spiritual for me because the characters are representing parts of myself. The characters are not individual entities in my mind, they merely represent one of the many collective parts that is my mind. So, I use the characters to represent myself, which means that when I see anything touhou related I see myself in those touhou-related media.

It's pleasant.

I'm fine with that. It'll always be in my heart

I view Gensokyo and its inhabitants as individual pieces of myself. The environment is my mind and there are all these individual forces that mingle and interact with each other. Some have relationships and others don't like each other very much. Although for me, there are much less hostilities when I came to grips on certain aspects of myself, so there is relative peace. These individuals usually take a form of a touhou character, it may or may not have any relation to that character, but for some reason my mind is gensokyo and its inhabitants are touhous. It is hard to pinpoint what exactly each character represents because theres no real differences between them. I believe that they represent different traits and values, such as willpower, forgiveness, discipline and such. They all are the same personality, but they have different strengths and weaknesses and ultimately strive to make the environment flourish

In the end, they all live in the same world and essentially are the same entity, regardless of differences. They all strive for one end goal. What that goal is, is what everyone yearns to learn in their lifetime.

Probably why I love crossdressing as touhous, makes me feel so much closer to home. Also Koishi is a fascinating character to me. So is Eiki, I love the combination of emotionality ultimately consisting of logic and objective reasoning.
