I think there's nothing wrong with having some fun with a ship, whether that's just by talking about how cute it is or actually making content out of it (art, stories and what have you). Like when Gura sings a song for Ame and calls her "sunshine," that's a cute and fun thing that can spark your imagination inb4 but actually she's in love. That's why these girls bait yuri.
Some people are actually mentally ill which can ruin the fun for the rest of us unfortunately. If nothing else I suppose that speaks to how appealing their chemistry is if they attract people like that? I dunno.
