Having now 'retired' from gameplay (damm arthritis) a favourite moment for me was finally beating this one on a slightly pacifist run.

I find it "Mission Impossible" to rank fourteen plus games.

Gengetsu's last attack isn't hard either. I'm guessing the only reason people think it's hard is because they heard about the timeout patterns being total rape but forgot the "timeout" part. Normally it's nothing. They're easier than Alice. It's a fun ex stage anyway.
