As far as I know, there isn't 1 example of a naval mecha musume that doesn't have futuristic armor, huge gun, huge futuristic gun, random spikes, something that would qualify as a downsized Gundam or nonsensical design that looks straight out of the early 00s. The smokestack backpack is simple yet aesthetic, it's not outrageous, it's not complicated for the sake of it, it's just the most defining features of the ship. Even the various ripoffs can't seem to replicate even the basic destroyer design.
