Huh. Maybe I should start playing some again. I could always find people on IRC to play with, but they're a lot better than me and it tends to be kind of samey with the people in there, so it would just result in me getting stomped, not really improving, and not having many people to play with

I'll tell you what I did

First, play against the computer. Stay with me here. Rape the *shit* out of the computer. Know your basic combos by muscle memory. Then go download that improved AI program thingy. Play until you rape *that* computer. Now go play against real players. Get raped in a corner, and figure out how to stop getting raped in a corner by examining your replays and figuring out exactly what decisions of yours led to the rape continuous instead of reversing

Then go onto IRC. N-no offense jaypee, but they're pretty good at this game, so you'll learn more faster if you practice against them than the more casual players that play in /jp/

UNL, actually. It was maybe a few months after it first came out, if I recall, and a touhoufag friend of mine got me into it

I found my one true love shortly thereafter gameplay-wise, anyway. I love all 2hus equally otherwise!

Alice was one of the coolest characters in UNL, tied with Hong Meiling and Utsuho. Prove me wrhaha just kidding, but no seriously she has the most fun gameplay in that game besides Hong Meiling, goddamn

I've been out of the soku loop for a while, but it's good to see there are people as crazy about Alice as I used to be

You may want to put up some better oki, that's one of her strongest points. Most of the time I could just graze on wakeup and you were on the other side of the screen throwin stuff (maybe that's why Iku 6c went so well). A single C doll and j.5a always goes. After that start mixup or whatever you want.
