Yeah it’s basically the story of a guy who wanted to be respected for his talents and hard work, told to fuck off and laughed at by cruel gods who looked down upon him because he was just a monkey, proved himself better and beat the shit out of all those who wronged him down… only to told by the god of his story that he should just deal with the fact he’s a stupid monkey, must bend the knee to the rules of the universe, and ultimately gets defeated and punished til he is buck broken into being a good little Buddhist.
